AIs there a forum or information here on how the blocking feature works? I can't find it and I need to block someone. I think I figured out how to block him, but I'm interested in knowing what this actually means - I assume it means I can't see his posts, but does that mean he can't see mine as well? Will he no longer be able to PM me?

Sorry, I'm sure there is an answer somewhere that I'm just not seeing, but I'm on a new computer (with Windows 8 ) and everything is really wonky.

Thanks!

You can try it on me if you like, lol, then you can come back and see if this post shows up, and I could try to PM you. Then unblock, and I'll let you know what I can see of yours.

I have been wondering the same thing about someone lately, couldn't really find any info.

ACool! I'm blocking you now. I will unblock you in one hour - let's synchronize our watches! :D

AWell shoot - it tells me that there's a post there from a blocked user and gives me the option to show the message. I was hoping it would just make them all invisible to me and I would be none the wiser.

*sigh*

AYou guys are funny. I would think I would want to continue to see what others - even the most annoying - post. I can think of a couple people that irk me, but you never know when they might have some useful information. Or, at the very least, there's the possibility of entertainment :-)

AIt wasn't so much the posts I didn't want to see - but I didn't want to receive personal messages even after asking that they stop. Blocking was my last resort, I just wasn't sure how it works.

ASo I unblocked you. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to since you have to be able to see a member's profile to block/unblock someone, and I wasn't sure if blocking you would make me unable to see your profile. I had to unhide your post to do it, which was easy.

Also, after unblocking you, I had no messages from you - so if one was sent, it doesn't show up when you unblock.

Were you given a notification that you were blocked from contacting me, or did it allow you to send the message?

On my end it seemed to send just fine, nothing telling me it didn't go through, and I could see your profile/posts etc no problem.

AWell poo. I was hoping it was more of a Facebook type block where you can't see each other.

Oh well. Thanks for participating in the experiment! :)

AOP, I can confirm that I can still see your posts, and I received no notification that you blocked me.

Of course this is assuming that you expanded this post, since it is now hidden by default on your screen. :)

AI hear this obnoxious buzzing coming from directly above me...

. . . . Going... . . . . . . . . Going... . . . . . . .. . . Gone! Yay!

ANot to worry, my posts will always be just a click away. ;)

Although it's my hope that you won't expand my posts, it's a win-win for the community since fewer threads will be taken off-topic (which is why I recommended that you block me in the first place).

A human sized cake safe and a giant can of raid could fix so many problems.

AIf an adult can be stuffed into an old suitcase, why not a cake safe? I think this would probably work for weasels too...

Not giraffes though. No.

This thread is being locked.  If anyone has a problem with another member, please do not start a thread in the forums, please PM a Moderator for us to address your issues and concerns.

Also, the Cake Safe jokes are getting out of line.  I won't tell you that you *must* stop trying your hand at being funny and making them the butt of your jokes, however you are giving them more free advertising with your "funny" then they possibly could have imagined with their bogus posts, and you are using the Cake Central forums as your vehicle for it - thereby helping them sell MORE CAKE SAFES.  Just think about all the thousands of people googling "cake safe" just because you can't let it go.

We can't stop you from mentioning it, but please think about how permanent your posts are, how much you are helping their Google search ratings, and how you are encouraging other companies to follow suit hoping to get the same exposure for free here from you.
