Find yourself a good fondant recipe and practice, practice, practice, there are plenty of how to videos on you tube, and tons of information on this site. Good luck to you.

Welcome! A turntable is one of my favorite tools, it would really make your life so much easier.
Hey everybody! Check out google.com ! This is clearly an attempt to direct traffic onto that site and away from cake central. Because everyone knows you can only have one browser open!

Proper turntables can be pricey, but even a dollar store lazy susan will do the trick for lighter cakes. Get that and a bench scraper, and you will be in heaven icing your next cake :)

Just googled bench scraper! Who knew! I definitely need one.

Soooo you saying it's not called a cake turner thingy... It's a lazy Susan icon_smile.gif Got it!

I'm a desert bar caterer so I'm really comfortable with small confections. These cakes are new to me, but so much fun!

Welcome! Cakes are a lot of fun and I think you will love working with fondant! This is my favorite fondant recipe right now. I usually have the ingredients on hand, and everyone who has tried it says they love it. Well, except for my mom, but she hates all fondant. :)

There called turn tables or lazy susans depending on where you get it. I have a wilton turn table that I bought from Michaels craft store using a 40% coupon , but my husband bought me a really nice one for Christmas at bed bath and beyond.

A proper turntable is amazing to work with, but a lazy susan is certainly better than nothing :) Cake turntables are raised, can be tilted and a good one can hold a huge tiered cake, a lazy susan is usually flat and I would never try more than a 1 tier cake at a time on it.

Your cake looks fantastic!!! You did a wonderful job!! I do not use fondant because no one in my family likes it. I only do as a hobby. Even your buttercream cakes are very cute!!! Looks like you have a natural talent for caking!!!
