Hi All,

I am making a Monster High cake (yeah, I know... whatever, she's 6) for my granddaughter and she saw one that she liked on Pintrest.  It had candy melt spikes on it.

I've got the cake ok but cannot figure out the spikes...maybe I need a mold or something...don't know.

I can make the shape using candy melts on a parchment covered cookie sheet but they are flat on the one side and break easily - even if I reinforce them.  They are NOT like the picture

I want to make something about the same length of and

round like a drinking straw,, twisted into a spiral and pointed at the end like a pencil...about 50 of them...anybody got anything for that??

Can you show a picture? I'm having a hard time picturing it made out of candy melts.

I'm thinking modeling chocolate might be better than candy melts from the way you're describing them.

Modeling chocolate would be easier than melted chocolate, but it might not hold if it gets too warm. Most spirals are made of hardened gum paste. They do break if they are long/tall so you'll need to make more than your count.

I make spirals out of fondant. Cut strip and wrap them around a straw or skewers if you want them skinnier and just let them dry.
