Which is best when ink runs out? More cartridges or buying the self refill bottles???
Does the Cylan run out quicker than the others because that is the one I am very low on????
I have a Canon iP3600.

AI buy refills & cartridges both. Refilling does make a mess, but I hate to waste the little left in the cartridge.
If you buy the gold label cartridges and refills from icing images it's not messy at all. They can be refilled right in the printer and their ink is the best I have found. What you run out of first depends on what you are printing.

Slightly off topic. Do you just switch back and forth between your edible ink cartridges and regular cartridges on one printer or do you have a completely separate printer that is used solely for printing with edible ink?
You can't switch back and forth, You need a printer dedicated only for edible image so it is food safe.
AThat's what I thought. When I was reading reviews on amazon, one person posted about how easy it was to switch back & forth. I wondered how that would work since there is bound to be some ink left in the printer head even after you switch cartridges! :)
I refill mine, it's not too messy - just lay A LOT of paper towel on the work surface, grab some gloves and a syringe (with needle) (that has only ever been used for this purpose!) and get to it. There are you tube videos on how to do it for regular ink, and the same thing goes for edible ink.
And yes, I have a completely separate printer for paper and for food, how gross!!
