Different Flavors For Royal Icing

I'm sure it's already been discussed but I can't find any threads about it.
I am making 3 different flavors of cookies as favors for my sister's bridal shower: Basic sugar cookies, brown sugar cookies, and pumpkin spice cookies.
I have found a few different flavors I would like to use in my royal icing so it tastes better than just plain old vanilla. I have found pumpkin pie extract that I am considering for my pumpkin spice cookie.
I know you can't use oil based flavorings in royal icing so I am looking at only extracts but my question is, has anyone tried such different flavors in royal icing? I don't want to go buying all of these flavors just to have them taste awful in my icing.
Her shower is the beginning of October so I would really like to embrace all those yummy fall flavors!
AI've only done vanilla and almond. Royal is a neutral taste, so i think the flavorings would work very well.
