AOk, so I'm making the 2nd tier of my daughter's wedding cake which is key lime. I have made all of the tester cakes so I decided to start baking the real ones to freeze now. All of the cakes were taken to work, neighbors, other cakers and they passed with flying colors. This morning I used key limes unstead of regular limes for the lime cake (I'd used regular limes in the tester). Well, the seeds slipped through the strainer and I ended up with seeds in the batter. Tried to pull them out but I'm sure I've missed some. Gotta re-bake. I will use the regular, larger limes though. Has this happened to anyone?
AI usually squeeze into a small container instead of into the batter. If you have some, wrap the lines with cheesecloth.
