My son has a friend/co-worker that is leaving the summer workplace to return to college. He has asked me to make her a going away cake. Being the typical young man (age 20), he has decided to leave the cake design up to me!
This gal has been a school chum of his all through K-12, they have hung out together playing mario games, and have worked two summers together. They consider each other good friends and not anything more.
She loves the color aqua, been thru the zebra print/black/hot pink stage, her dorm room decor last year was greys & yellow, she sews, she cooks, just a real bubbly personality and the place they work at is an ice cream shop.
Any ideas? I would love to just 'wow' her with a cake, but I cannot come up with anything. I will appreciate any suggestions; thank you so much in advance for taking the time to respond.
AI would say something 'pinterest-y', it sounds like she probably enjoys chevrons and petal/ruffle cakes and that kind of thing.
What a thoughtful son you have!
You could make a cake that tells about her life. goals in life, college mascot, what she's done, vacation, her fave color, her hobby's. Make little fondant details to put around the cake. just an idea...
AI love the cakes that are suitcases and have little pictures and stamps that highlight the person's interests. That could be a good idea especially since she's going away...
AWhen you said grey and yellow I thought of this cak I pinned on my pinterest "colors" board...
