I admire the incredible edible confections that you "artists" are displaying.  Also just like visiting in a museum, I know that I will never draw like Picasso, or Van Gogh, nor make anything like the lovely displays in these cake galleries.

I have to paint by the numbers, sew with a pattern, and use lots of cutters, plungers, silicone molds, side markers, and guides to get my cakes slightly decorated.

Well done to this world of Cake Central decorators, Well Done!

There really are some great cakes on here. I think it is amazing what they can do. I am definitely more of a baker than a decorator. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Time and practice that is what it takes along with a dose of talent.  I never thought I could do any of this until I started taking classes and then practice practice practice and I still think I am horrible but I get great reviews from my coworkers, neighbors and family... so stick with it and practice.

I've been apart of this awesome site for almost two years and I'm still amazed at the artistry. It definitely gives me something to strive for.

I am definitely in the 'need a lot of practice' category and it always makes me cringe when I see people viewing my photos lol but I put them there so that as I improve I can follow my cake photos and hopefully see the changes. A bit of self motivation per se. There are some really really talented people on here!

Yup, the Galleries are always full of  exceptionally creative confections. It's been so instructive and productive to be able to navigate CC.com for the recipes, tutorials, videos, and the tips and techniques on the forums.  An encyclopedia for the kitchen.

'SEARCH' has become my 'go to' button.  I'm so tickled to be able to improve my skill levels in such a large variety of areas. baby steps, just happy little baby steps.

Check out the Romantic Proposal Cake on the front page.  I saw it on Cakes Decor and fell in love with it.  The middle black divider box is the engagement ring box - How cool is that?

If you don't get the CC magazine, just wait until some of those Dec. cakes start moving through the gallery. There are some amazing pieces of art!

Here it is, almost a year later and I can't wait to get on my computer every morning and look at your beautiful cakes, cookies, and cupcakes.

Some folks have really advanced and grown beautifully in their decorating skills.  There isn't a cake that I wouldn't enjoy receiving myself. Thank you for sharing your photos.

Cheers,

mb

AI love the galleries, also. They inspire me and give me ideas for new designs I've never thought of. And the forums help me get advice on things I have no clue about.
