AHi All I just started using Massey Madagascar vanilla bean paste and love it! But the gourmet shop had other flavors so I bought a chocolate extract. Has anyone used their different flavored and if so which ones are good and do you use them in the batter and frosting?:-)

They are all good. But for lemon, lime and orange I prefer http://www.boyajianinc.com/ they are really outstanding. Being the real fruit oil they taste so natural it's amazing.

I didn't care much for the chocolate extract from NM...it doesn't do anything. Like you can't add it to a plain base and get a chocolate flavor.

Yes. Those are 100% natural real fruit oils, they are very intense. For cake batters I also always use real fruit zest and grind it up finely with my sugar in the Cuisinart. Than I use it as my sugar the recipe. It really heights the flavor!
