Calling all my google heros!
I know I recently saw a cake where the "pleating" was really done by making line marks on the fondant. Please help me find a photo of this technique.
Was someone asking about it on here fairly recently? I thought I remembered seeing a cake that had a fondant pleat that led to a discussion about if it was carved or actually pleated.
I know this isn't it, but it's a pretty cool faux pleated rolling pin.
I'm going to wake up in the dead of night thinking about where I saw that dumb cake. I'm blaming my under eye bags on you tomorrow DD.

This isn't a tutorial but it has some close up's. It looks like they did some fondant sausages under fondant then made some marks with a tool after. I have a really cool tutorial on my ipad that's like the caketress style pleats, it might take me a while to find! I have so many on here it's ridiculous! I'll keep looking for you!
AYou guys are so awesome!
I searched all 17 pages of drape cakes & didn't see it. Finally thought of ask y'all & you jumped right on here to help. Thank you!
Six, yes it was in a recent thread. I can't remember the title so my search ended poorly. That pin I awesome.
Smckinny, thank you! That's not it but you are awful sweet to help.
Calewitch, I'm using my phone this early AM. That takes me to a bunch of photos. I'm going to run to the big computer! I love BeyondButtercream's work!
YES Cakewitch! That is very similar to what I was trying to find. Thank you.
It isn't the exact cake I was thinking but it is a great example of what I meant!
AYes, you get my honest, heartfelt appreciation.
Prize would've been bigger it had been the one Sixinarow & I rember.
Oh no. I figured it was going to be fairly easy...use a vien tool to draw the lines.
I KNOW!!! Where is that cake?!? I was trying to remember who was in on the discussion...but I can't.
the caketress uses plenty of these indented "pleats" in her designs, but i feel like this last one will be the jackpot. you can indent with a veining tool on freshly covered fondant cakes. adding thin bc/fondant lines under the fondant covering and accentuating those lines gives more of a 3d effect.
