ADo a google image search for the game. You can find pictures of the scenes in it and make a cake that looks like the game scenery. Green with roads, hills, and houses. Make sure you have the cute big headed dogs of course.

Thanks. I did google it and saw all the different dogs but just couldn't get my head wrapped around a design. He wants a map included in the cake. So maybe like you say, green with roads, hills, houses, with a map and dogs. I really need to read the scenarios and game description/purpose too. He's 12 and of course mom asked that I make it AWESOME and DIFFERENT!!! LOL

Ahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dog_Island

Basically you get to customize your dog (they have different examples so I'd do something boyish obviously), the dog is in search of a special flower he has to sniff out in order to save his sibling.

Aren't your doing a tiered cake you could have each one represent parts of the dogs journey. The sibling gets sick at a carnival, so you could start there, then wrap around to the DR's office. He takes off on a boat, and jumps off... You could do some really cool things with this cake!

If your doing a sheet cake, you could have the whole thing a map with pop up parts and labels. Since the boys older you should try to incorporate as much detail as you can (stay true to the game) within their budget of course but I think the extra research into the actual game will make the cake really special and impressive. I'd love to see what you come up with!

I want to make one now ;)

Ohhhhhh I love both of your ideas!!! I researched some and was just designing it on paper. I was thinking of doing a ship on the water with maybe 3 dogs in the ship with their map but now I'm thinking it may be too childish. They didn't care as to whether it's a sheet cake or a tiered cake.
