What food colors should I use to get a bright neon blue turquoise color?  Not teal, that is too green.

This is a close match to the color I am looking for:

TIA

p.s. tried mixing up a batch myself and just can't get the vibrancy I want with neon.  Most grocery stores carry a neon gel kit and I love it for rich colors, sadly there isn't a blue.

I use Chefmaster colors - amazing, will never use anything else. There's a color called Sky Blue. I would use a buttload of that to get a real bright neon blue, then add just a little Leaf Green. Royal Blue won't work if that's what you're trying.

I have the Americolor turquoise, it's more teal..too much of a green tint. Trying to figure out how to blue it up. Your color is the exact one I need also!

Thanks all.

I ordered Neon Bright Blue - Liqua Gel from Chefmaster.  Got my fingers crossed it comes out right.

The cake will only be white and this blue-turquoise color, which is the theme color of the party!

AI had a cake last weekend with this same color, I had to match my icing. I added a tiny amount if teal and equal amounts of electric and sky blue-it matched exactly I was surprised lol!

Have this on hand and it has too much green in it.  Tried adding more sky blue, but couldn't get it to match up.  I am hoping what comes in will be the right color!  Cross your fingers for me!

Americolor does have a turquoise, but when it's kneaded into fondant or gumpaste, it's a little more green than the color on the top of the lid. icon_cry.gif

Interested to see if the color from Chefmaster might be a little more blue...

Hi, Have you tried Albert Uster Imports, the 5th ave blue looks close, and they have it in gel, dusting powder and massa.

Good Luck,

I will make sure to post what it looks like when the order arrives.  I have my fingers crossed.  Seems it is a popular color and many want to replicate it!

Those balloons look teal to me. Anyway "sky blue" from Bakery crafts is an intense, vibrant turquoise. They also sell a neon blue which is not as intense imo..

Does anyone have a problem getting their BC to crust when they color it a dark hue?

Yes!  Using less butter/shortening and adding more water seems to help but then butter cream for me is a mystery, lol.  I really hate the sweetness of it and have been adding salt and a little lemon juice to help with this, plus french vanilla coffee creamer - powder, really helps bring out a good flavor without added sweetness.

I just did a cake this weekend with this color.  I used Wilton teal and Wilton Royal blue to color my fondant.  The color came out perfect. Hope that helps.

Got my order today and checked it out.  Perfect!!  A little goes a long ways so you have to be careful with the color.  I will have to mix everything up together so I make sure I have the same color throughout.  The only thing missing in the order was the Disco Blue Rainbow Dust.

Has anyone used the two things together, the Neon Bright Blue & the Disco Blue Dust?  My plan was to dust the edges of a few white carnation/peony flowers, with hope that it would match or at least come very close!
