Hi there everyone!

I'm starting this an hour early because I'm heading out on a Bay Area delivery! That's a two hour drive so I thought better to start this an hour early than two hours late! LOL!

I have a baby shower for the morning and then I'll be staying with our younger daughter and her family for the week and working on an Anniversary cake with her there. They already have our son there so this weekend we are celebrating Father's Day as well!

I hope to check in tonight and see lots of photos. Unfortunately my own computer has been shut down and packed so I don't have a photo to share quite yet! I'll try to post one later.

Finished 2 of my 3 cakes I need to finish for this weekend. Both are for family My sister's birthday is Sunday and her Boyfriend's birthday is Monday.

* Pig Cake for my sister's Birthday. It's canned icing for the mud because it had the consistency I needed.

Pig cake is for my sister she loves pigs. I did the mud in canned frosting that I had leftover in the freezer.

* Based this cake on multiple cakes I saw here. Coals are toasted marshmallows.

Grill cake for her boyfriend. Not completely happy with this one but they think it's great. Coals are marshmallows that I sliced then took the torch to them. I'll be delivering both of these to them tomorrow.

I have a petal cake I need to finish by Sunday for my aunt and my Fiancé came home yesterday saying he needs a papa smurf cake for a guy at work for the 27th.  Might get a cake supply shopping trip out of that cake lol.

Hello CAt and everyone else.  Hope you all had a great week.

Lovebug, what a cute piggy cake.  I'm partial to pigs so I just love it.

Haven't loaded my cake yet.  I only have 1 this weekend after all.  A boy Band cake for a little girl's 10 birthday.  Not even happy with how it turned out but the kids are so I guess that's all that matters.

On my way to deliver now.  See you all in a bit.

Good Evening everyone!

LoveBug: CUTE!! I am so jealous, I want to do a pig cake soo bad! My husband was just called to the bar and I am throwing a little party/celebration next weekend and I am seriously considering making a pig....but I don't know how I would relate that to him, and he might be offended. Haha,  sooo maybe another time.

This is another busy wedding weekend:) The purple cake has 300 monogrammed cupcakes to go along.. wanted to bang my head against a wall doing those, oye! The Orchids are silk, she gave me a couple of stems from her stuff. And the flowerburst is not really making me happy. First attempt though so it turned out ok. Would like another shot at it though. I would do a few things differently.

I am working on a 1st birthday 3 tier Cars Cake and I am currently taking a wee break from it. Searching online for some inspiration as I think my brain is fried from the week:) Can't decide on what to do with the top tier....

Looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to:)

Hello!  :) I am working on a flip-flop cake for my 2 children.  We are having a joint swimming party tomorrow at a friend's house, so I'll be able to post pics after that.  I'm waiting on my mmf/gumpaste "foot holder" (?) to dry so I can put that on right before the party.  I've never done something I had to have stiff before. I'm pretty excited!

Not very happy with the chevron stripes and I should've used ganache underneath, but here it is. I still need to attach 1 more gumpaste flower, but it's going on the side and I want to wait until tomorrow. Really frustrated with the stinkin' stripes..grrr.

I think its the start of summer, Or something in the air.  Not a full moon yet.  Like I said I am not at all happy with my boy band cake.  I couldn't get the bodies of the figures and the arms to stay together.

Brettley, your cakes are beautiful,  Yikes 300 cupcakes!!

Sixinarow, your stripes are perfect.  Mine would be a mess.

I finished up a Monster High cake and starting a Mario and Luigi cake.  The Monster High one took awhile and I could not smooth the buttercream on top to save my life!  I will post pictures tomorrow, I am not at home right now!

Hi, everyone! I've been MIA for the past couple of weeks because 1. I was working on a cake that I still can't share icon_wink.gif and 2. I was on vacation. No cakes for me this week although I've been working on my cake club's website and some cake show prep work (I'm my ICES chapter's secretary and our cake show chairman).

Everyone's cakes are great this week! Lovebug, I am now wracking my brain to think of a reason to make a pig cake. That is so darn cute!

CraftyCassie, I made a flip flop cake last summer and it was really fun. I'd love to do another.

sixinarow, your cake is lovely.

Brettley, beautiful, as always!

My most recent cake was from a week and a half ago. It's the one that was the subject of my post about the wedding planner insisting on driving it herself. For some reason, I can't upload images into a post so I put it in my gallery. I'm not usually into the rustic look but it came out kind of cute. Their colors were Denver Bronco blue and orange, thus the orange ranunculus and blue hydrangeas, all gumpaste.

Lot's of hard work tonight, with beautiful cakes to show for it. I just came back from spending the night out with my girlfriends, it's a week off for me, aside from some roses that I'll get started on for a wedding cake next week.

AHappy Friday everyone!

Cat, safe travels!

Lovebug! Adorable pig cake, my 4 year old DD will love it ;)

Brettly, all beautiful, the purple one is my favorite.

Sixinarow, wonderful, beautiful colors--modern yet really feminine. Really pretty

Auntginn, what great figures, that will be a happy birthday girl!

Only one little cake this week, and a pretty boring one. For a 8th grade graduate whose school colors are yellow and blue and mascot is a star (with legs and arms and a face--but I didn't go there..) what I do live about this cake though is waist is inside. A new creation if chocolate-malt cake with chocolate mousse filling with crushed chocolate-malt balls in it. The outside is smooth salted vanilla buttercream with fondant decorations.

ASweet cakes, I know it's boring & tedious, but you will be so glad you did a business plan. It's worth every bit of research & hard work you invest in it.

Lovebug, what?! So stinking precious! That pig is adorable!

Brettley, I'm exhausted just reading all that work!

Six, those chevrons look right to me! Did you paint them that silver? If not, how on earth did you get them so flush?

Auntginn, those figures are adorable. Just don't move them. I have had to precariously place some figurines to avoid parts falling. They aren't action figures!

Elcee, good to see you! I'm excited to see the super secret cake. I hate to miss the convention this year (would be my first). Just didn't have the money to go. Next year!

AThis week was rather light so I filled it visiting planners. It worked! Within minutes of leaving one of them she called to set up 3 consultations. Just got an email from another one wanting 2. Sometimes, ya gotta shaw the trees!

This week I have a wedding & groom's cake for Sunday. Still need a few final touches.

This groom's cake still needs a label. The groom "made rank" so the label will be his new insignia. I'm proud of this one. It was far more difficult than I imagined. I wanted the look of all 3 layers but I didn't want bumpy seems & I didn't want to use a whole bunch of fondant covering it in all 3 layers. I finally worked through it. Thanks to DH for patiently watching the baby.

The wedding cake still needs a few final touches & the monogram Not loving this one. Maybe it's too close to one I recently did. Maybe it's because the lace was difficult & not easy to interpret. Maybe I'll like it more once its finished.

AThanks guys, after looking at it this morning, I feel a little better about it! DeliciousDesserts, I rolled the gray fondant really thin and used jessicakes tutorial to lay it out on greased waxed paper on my table and transfer onto the cake. HIGHLY recommend for chevron or patterns thst have to be spaced!! I LOVE your cakes, that groom cake rocks! Auntginn, I love your figures! Cakeddc, it's awesome, I bet he loved it!

AOk, feel much better now that I added the monogram. I'll add the ribbon to the cake board on site. The cake board goes on top of a pedestal stand. There's also a cake topper.[IMG][/IMG]
