Hello, I have an order this weekend I would like to use the 1M tip to do buttercream roses - I love this technique, However, the customer does not want the entire cake covered in the roses as you often see. She would like a buttercream frosted cake with delicate scrollwork and accent flowers - in blue and mauve. It is a 10" round so I don't need a ton of decoration. Has anyone used the 1M roses other than to cover a whole cake with them? Do they look as nice? I was thinking maybe small bunches of them around the base of the cake and maybe a set of three on top of the cake - leaving the rest for piped scrollworkm probably white on white. Thoughts? Would this be too busy?
Second options is to do piped hydrangeas - which I have never done before - but are a natural choice for the colours that I have been given.
I'd really appreciate your advice or thoughts on the design.
