I have a customer who want a small cake to feed twelve , she just asked for a strawberry sponge cake one 8 inch layer covered in fondant with an angry bird theme. I am new to this and a bit worried . First off what exactly is a strawberry sponge cake?. I thought it was a victorian sponge with a strawberry filling. if she is wanting a single layer cake how is that going to work. I feel with my cakes coming out at less than two inches after leveling it might turn out looking not so good in terms of hight and the look she is going for.
I have sent an email advising that she should go for a two layer six inch cake and would look better and now no response from her. someone tell me if I am wrong . I don't want to sound unprofessional. feeling bad :-(
