# Fondant ~ GumTex?

I have some MM fondant that I made four days ago, wrapped up and in an air tight container.  My sister asked me to make a cake for her boyfriend's b-day this Sat.  I need the fondant to be a bit stiffer/dry faster for the design feature; is it too late in the game to add some gumtex?  Or do I need to make a new batch of MMF and add the gumtex to that?  Appreciate any guidance on this!!!  TIA

You can definitely add gum tex now. I don't really time it but I think the gum tex added fondant pieces generally are pretty hardened overnight. I use gum tex with purchased fondant and just knead it together. I find that the gum tex pieces eventually dry hard as rocks so I would only add it to fondant that would be removed from the cake before eating - not to any used for covering the cake.
