AI'm curious if anyone has any suggestions or tips as to what brand of decorating supplies to use? I've found a Wilton brand kit for what seems like a good deal, but I am not sure of the quality. Any tips?

Wilton tips are stainless steel and are just fine.  I'm a professional decorator and have no issues whatsoever with the majority of their basic products.  I have some specialty items from other manufacturers, but my basic rounds, shells, etc. are all Wilton.

The easy availability of their product line is a real advantage and when you can use a coupon at a hobby store for 40-50% off an entire kit, it's a great savings.

Just fine, but they're nickel-plated brass.

I have a set of Wilton tips and like them fine.  I am a hobby baker so they are not in constant use.  I do hand wash them well and dry them with a towel.

Apparently, Wilton does make tips of both nickel coated brass AND stainless steel :

I don't know which are necessarily which, but again, I've had no problem with them.
