AHey everyone...i made this cake for my son's birthday...and now I have got an order for the same cake. As excited as I am, I have no idea how much to charge for it. It is a 9 inch and a 6inch chocolate cake. How much do you guys normally charge for gum paste figures?...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AIt's good that you've made this cake before so you know how long it'll take you again :-) give yourself a wage per hour and add on your costs.

I'd ask about £30 for a small figure then a basic rate for the cake.

Cute. Did you save the figures from your cake? If so, I am the type that would prob use them if I could BUT still charge for them!

I'm at around $300 with all those gum paste figures. Those are time-consuming. 

But you really need to figure up your cost of ingredients and materials, plus how much time it will take you including baking, assembling, covering with fondant, decorating, and making the figures etc. You also need to calculate overhead and add that in. Also look at your area's pricing for custom cakes and make sure you are not undercutting your competition. Pricing can vary greatly depending on where you live. 

AI am a licensed legal baker with a commercial kitchen (no store front) my price would be about $250

In my area & with my skill level, I charge $4.50 per serving. I also charge $20-40 per figurine like those. Fancy filling is $8-15.

Pricing is sometimes the most difficult part of running a business. While we can give you a general idea, You have to do the research. What is your cost, what will the market bare?
