Hello all,

I have a cake in about a month that will be for a husband and wife that are celebrating their birthdays together. The wife said there is no theme, but it shouldn't be too feminine or masculine. Has anyone seen any cool pictures of cakes for both a man and woman? The colors are black and white and the wife will be 35 and the husband will be 42, if that helps! :) Thanks for your time.

No theme cakes always drive me crazy. I never know where to go with them. Is there something that they enjoy doing together? Otherwise you could do a search for black and white cakes. There are so many gorgeous cakes that are white with black piping or fondant work on them. 

I would ask her what they are both interested in, what they do together, there has got to be something personal.  ask her if they play golf, drink a certain beer, play cards, play lottery, have a collection of some sort, watch a certain tv show, have a pet, go to the beach, have a funny memory ... keep talking out loud with suggestions, and she will be bound to have an idea ... then run with it.
