Too Soft For Stacking??

Hi All,

 

I'm making a chocolate cherry cake, you know the kind where you mix the cherry pie filling in with the cake batter?  I'm wondering if this cake would be too soft to stack another small cake on top of it?  Has any one every tried this?  Thanks for your help!!

AIf you support it correctly it should be fine.

Like cakeandstuff said, it just needs the proper support, none of the weight of the second tier should actually be put on the first, that's what the dowels do :)
