AI have to bring a baked good to my daughter's concert. This will be tweens and teens and their parents. My daughter really wants to do a mini dessert in shot glasses. I found plastic 2 oz shot glasses at the party store, so these are pretty tiny. We also have mini spoons. She also bought some Ghiradelli chocolate chip cookie mix and is hoping to incorporate cookies, but that's not a necessity. I also have raspberry filling available.

Whatever we make has to be able to stay out at room temp for 3 hours, so no whipped cream.

I tried googling but am havin trouble finding ideas and recipes. Mostly I am just finding some pictures. I searched for: dessert shots, dessert shooters, cake shots, cake shooters. Mainly I am finding either alcoholic items or cake push pops. the push pops are huge compared to what I am looking for. I did find a few, but they are using larger glasses and can have more layers.

Is there another name these are called that I can search for? (I cannot stand the shot/shooter name, especially since this is for kids.)

Thanks so much for any ideas you can offer!

AUummmm... Cookie sticks, and fudgy or peanut butter type dips? The cookies jut playfully out of glasses 1/2 full of 'dip.'

I made some Jello and pounding shots for my husband birthday...the dessert table theme was Beer!!! This might inspire you.

I like the idea of chocolate ganache on the bottom, a cake cube in the middle and topped with caramel...or any other icing!

I've done mini trifles in glasses before...they were highball size glasses, but you could probably adapt this to something slightly smaller.

You make regular jello (in whatever flavour/colour you like).  In the bottom of each glasse, put 2 or 3 cubes of cake (lemon pound cake works really well).  Pour the jello over the cake to just cover it and put your glasses in the fridge to set.

Once the jello had set in the glasses, I put a couple of spoons of custard on top of the jello, then topped that with a bit of chopped fruit, then covered it in a spritz of whipped cream.  Because your desserts are going to be sitting out, you may not want to use the custard and whipped cream, unless you find something similar that doesn't need refrigeration.  But you could still use the fruit (or your raspberry filling?) and maybe top it with a fluffy icing.

Take small chunks of brownies put in bottom, next a teaspoon of cherry pie filling, more brownies and finally a dollop of frosting (in place of cream). Can put a maraschino cherry with stem on top (dipped in chocolate if you want) and call it a black forest shot or mini cake.

AThank you, everyone!

lesucreaufour, your little jello beers are so cute, they look just like beer! (I don't drink, but they are cute!) We made some rainbow jello shots a few weeks ago for a Lego kid's party. The kids loved them.

Shanter, wouldn't that just be a cake truffle/ball? Maybe I am misunderstanding?

If we decide to use cake, should we bake it in a sheet pan and cut it out with a tiny round cutter so it fits in the bottom of the glass? I'm thinking that the glass is too small for cubes to fit well, but as I have never made or had one of these, I am not sure.

Any other non-perishable ideas ideas are greatly appreciated.

Strawberry shortcake- crushed shortbread cookies layered with strawberry filling and topped with vanilla frosting and fresh strawberry

Peanut butter cup- layers of chocolate mousse and peanut butter fluff, topped with nuts

Grasshoppers- brownie crumbles layered with mint frosting/fluff, topped with Andes or York patties

That's what I suggested. Easy to eat. icon_smile.gif

I think cutting rounds of cake to put in the shot glasses would be a fine idea.

AThanks. My daughter really wants to use these little glasses. She is only 11 so I will let her have her fun. I'm a sucker like that. But now I am going to be mean and make her do her math she's been stalling on! :)

What about s'mores? Just layer graham cracker crumbs, moist brownie crumbs, marshmallow fluff and ganache drizzle.

AThanks everyone! We made a lemon raspberry combo. Raspberry filling on the bottom. Lemon cake Raspberry filling Lemon frosting swirl A tiny wedge of fruit candy slice (we found pink and yellow combined) Tiny spoon

My daughter had so much fun making these and they look really cute. We made 96 of them and had exactly enough raspberry filling and frosting. That was lucky. I had two different sized glasses. We decided to use the smaller, cheaper ones from the dollar store. (they had a 24 pack for $1.) Now here's to hoping they make it to the concert in one piece! I have to go find my cake stand now to put them on. I haven't used it in over a year and we have been doing a lot of work in our house, which required things to be moved around or packed up. I have no clue where it is. Talk about last minute!
