Don't know why this happen, but when I colored my icing the color seperated from the crisco, I think...it's kinda hard to explain, because I have never had this to happen before!!

I've never had that happen before either.  Hmm...I think I may have heard somewhere before that this can happen if you use the shortening that does not have trans fats??  Crisco, especially.  Don't count on that though.  I'm not sure.  Did yours have the trans fats or not?

No trans fat, just cisco.  But, that is what I have always used...I use Indydebi recipe and have alway had great success with it...it's the scooby doo photo in my albumn, not sure if you can see it or not, but the nose was the most noticable..

I have had that happen when I use crisco AND it gets too warm.  Sometimes just the warmth of my hands can cause it to happen if I am piping a lot.
