How Do I Make Sure This Cake Is Stable?

Hi,
I'm making the cake in the photo below but i'm worried about it being stable and me transporting it. I saw another lady who has made it online and hers fell over!!
The recipe said to push straws through the cake but I'm not keen on this idea as the cakes for a child. Any thoughts?
You'd support it the same as any tiered cake using a support system for every 4" of cake height. Since the weight isn't evenly distributed, a central dowel would help during transport.
AIt's hard to tell from the photo exactly how tall the cake is. Can you tell us the pans/measurements?
Straws are often used along with cake boards to support cakes. The cake is disassembled before cutting & shouldn't pose a risk to children.
Hi,
Apologise this is the first tiered cake i've made. I think I was a bit naive thinking it would stand up alone!!!
The pans I've used are all 7". The height of each cake is between 2-2.5" so the total height of the cake would be about 11" when stacked I think.
Thanks in advance.
You would also need to use a cake board or some platform after 4-5" to give the support you need, not just sticking dowels through the whole thing.
