AI have not made a cake in well over a year. I need to make a cake for my goddaughter's First Communion next weekend and I don't remember what recipes I used for the frosting and the fondant! Also, I had always used WASC but now I see that the cake mix boxes are smaller than before, so now I have no clue what to even do for the cake, and I only have a week. I just feel like going and buying a cake at this point. I don't know why I offer to do these things when I have no time. I guess I just really missed making cakes! Thanks for letting me vent.

AI think that's it exactly! You miss it.

I know there is a thread of how to adjust for the new size. Hopefully someone can link I for you.

For the Duncan Hines Classic Yellow and Classic White, just buy an extra one and add 1/3 cup of mix from the second box to make up the missing ozs. I weighed it out on my kitchen scale and, happily, it came up to exactly 1/3 cup. Then just use the WASC recipe as usual!  (I know there are people on here who will insist that you should do it strictly by weight and not volume, but I find it easier to mesure 1/3 cup and it's worked perfectly fine every time). Good luck.

AThank you, I will try that. Does it nosy work with Duncan Hines? I think I read on another post that one of the other brands, Pillsbury maybe, changed the recipe so much that this will not work. Did I read correctly?

AOh! Auto correct changed my typing again. That is supposed to say "Does it not work with Duncan Hines?" not 'nosy'.

I'm on the mobile site and cannot figure out how to edit my post.
