I'm going to try to make my own today. I'm wondering if I can use the bread hook (well greased) and mix the MMF in there?

I do.  :-)  Haven't burned it out yet.  However, I do monitor it pretty closely and if it starts to labour, I'll take it out and continue in a bowl or on the counter.

I use Elizabeth Marek's recipe.
