Elcee I absolutely love your sphere.  I'm also really taken by the ruffly (for lack of a better description) swirly effect on the bottom of one of your wedding cakes.

Well, I finished playing with my cake early this weekend so thought I'd post a pic.

I am busy learning to play with buttercream.

Hi all,

It's been awhile since I have posted.

Cat: That cake just makes me smile:) lucky boy! And Lemon cake with Raspberry filling is my FAVORITE!! Lemon Sponge Cake with Raspberry filling is hide-in-the-closet-and-eat-it-all-to-myself good!

Ellavanilla: What an awesome stand! Hope you post pictures of the cupcakes. I recently ordered 2 clear 7 tier cupcakes towers, 1 square and 1 round and I am anxiously awaiting mine! So exciting!

I just finished a rubber ducky birthday cake and now I am working on a 4 tier 1/2 John Deere 1/2 white cake with black and pink Gerbera Daisies... The tiers are not stacked yet but so far it looks quite interesting.

Here is the rubber ducky tower. This was made on very short notice. Cake is Buttercream with gumpaste duck.

Anyway, Calling it for the night. I am completely exhausted! Looking forward to seeing the cakes.

A compromise is the art of dividing a cake in such a way that everyone believes he has the biggest piece.

The cake is lemon cake with lemon curd butter cream filling. Covered in MMF and Duff's fondant. Except for Mickey and the skewers, everything is edible. I'm exhausted but I can't wait for him to see this tomorrow!

Aww... that came out so cute! He is going love it! Great job with the Disney letters!

Hi Cat and everyone ,

A quiet week again for me this week , lots of things to do as Branch Secretary of our cake club but no actual caking. I did plan and sketch a couple of cakes though.

I went to a Demo day today , just a mini one with one demonstrator. It was a nice morning out with friends, morning tea , lunch , and a demo of a new product that I hadn't seen before. My friend and I went halves in a tub of the Flexi-Paste so we can have a play with it. It is a powdered flowerpaste ( gumpaste) that you just add water too and you can use it in moulds like sugar veil . But you can add it to chocolate to make chocolate modelling paste as well . You can also make dark coloured flowerpaste like red or black by just adding liquid food colouring to it instead of the water.   I can't wait to have a play with it.

Cat , I am sure Mickey will be a big hit he is just gorgeousicon_biggrin.gif

Cazza my great Nephew would love the "Baaa" bickies

Elcee , I love that pink cake it is really different. You have inspired me to get my ball tin out again and have a play .

I too am always in two minds about bridal fairs , they are a lot of work and we tend to have a lot of just lookers here. Most of my business comes from word of mouth or when I demonstrate at the Local Rose Show.

There were a few posts between me writing and posting my last posts ,

Love the Ducky , Brettley.

Cazza it is so nice just to play for playing's sake.I don't get to do that near as often as I would like to.

Ella , Lovely stand . I don't do enough cupcake orders to warrant buying something like that . ( I discourage cupcake orders actively )

I am unable to bake at the moment as I am still waiting for my new stove to arrive and be installed. I really need to bake this week so I hope it arrives on Monday.

Ginn, I think we all have a love/hate relationship with Bridal shows! LOL! Seems to be the nature of the beast. SIGH. I love the sound of a Peanut Butter Mud Cake! YUMMY! Post photos next week so we can all drool? LOL!

Melissa,   Thanks for noticing the lettering! I was working off of a photo I took with my cell phone! LOL! We are going to be on our way to our daughters soon so little man will get to see the cake and I just know he's gonna go crazy over it!

Brettley, LOVE the ducky cake! What a cute idea for a first birthday!

Hope everyone has a great week. We are working a wedding in Texas this upcoming weekend so, other than 160 meringue cookies for wedding favors, there is no caking for me this week. I'm hoping to be able to sign in here Friday night with my phone or my daughters Kindle Fire but can't guarantee it...hopefully I'll see you all then!

Cat, here is the pic of the tester cake.  I had never heard of Mudd cakes.  They are SO.... delicious if I must say so, and the peanut butter frosting is a perfect.   compliment.

This was the first time I made a cake and completely covered it with ganache.  I think I will be doing all my cakes this way.  It is so good.
