It's never "just cake!"

You may get a cake for $way to little but you won't get this cake!

Amaaazing!!! I would love to know how you did this also, I've just been asked to do the original cake pic. I want to customize it as you have so beautifully, but that tyre is scaring me!

to make the mud, I just crumbled chocolate cake and added icing to it until I got the consistency I liked.

I LOVE the TREAD on your cake!  Great job!  =)  Any tips on how you BUILT the cake?  I have one to do soon, & I was thinking of baking the cakes in rounds (10"), but then assembling them in layers like you would if you carved a cake, with dowels & supports.  Is that understandable?  Anyway, any tips you can give would be MUCH appreciated.  =)

Brenlynwin, I am on my way out the door, so I will copy and paste an email I sent to someone else with details on what worked for me, and pm it to you since I don't have time to type it all out right now. I hope it helps, and let me know if anything doesn't make since.

You Did A Fantastic Job! I Have A Request ToMake A similar tire cake (actually the customer sent me the same photo for inspiration), and I have no clue where to start. from the comments it appears you may have written instructions on how you completed yours- would you mind sharing them with me? that would be a tremendous help! otherwise i may have to ask that we alter their vision, lol.

I have this wedding cake in June.  Actually, I have 2 different brides who do NOT know each other who both want this cake ON THE SAME DAY!  They are both friends of mine, whom I told prior to their setting a date, that I'd do their cakes.  I had no idea they'd both choose the same day....or the same cake!  Yikes!
Anyway, I'm interested in your details you've sent to several others as well.
Do you mind sharing them?  You can email me at atalco3@yahoo.com.
Thanks a bunch!
