AHi all

I am making a 2-3 tier wedding cake and need to make a stand with a main dowel through the centre as well as other internal dowels. But I am unsure what type of wooden board and dowel to use to do this. Surely mdf wouldn't be suitable to use with food. Can some one please help point me in the right direction? I would assume I use the board and then have my cake board on top of that but I don't know how I would do the icing around the base

Thanks in advance everyone :)

MDF *covered* with a food safe wrap is fine.  However, I use a cake drum and SPS.  Way easier and quite sturdy.

If you're googling SPS, its easier to read my signature line.
