AHello to all! I am making my own wedding cake for my fiancée and I and would like to have gumpaste flowers. I bought some premise ones and spayed them my self but to my surprise they started to crack. I didn't want to buy more and have the same thing happen again. So i have bought some molds for Lilly's. I have no issues making the Lilly's and have read on this forum on how to put the on the cake with the straws or coffee stirs. My main question is it ok to have the gumpaste Lilly's touching the icing, say if I want to lay them down on the cake?

If you are using gumpaste or even fondant yes, those flowers can touch icing even if the icing is buttercream - NOTif it is whipped cream.

They will become a melted sticky mess.
