Does anyone have any tips on making this teddy bear? It's for my nephews christening so it will be blue. If anyone has a tutorial for one similar to this that would be great!
super cute bear. Your best to use modelling chocolate or gumpaste as they are much easier to work with when making figurines. the body and arms can be rolled and simply attached together with edible glue or ater as they will have the weight of the board to rest on. However, the head is suspended and also on a slight angle. The best thing to do is to make the head a few days in advance by creating the shape, and adding the details while it is a little harder.
Also before the head gets to hard brush a toothpick with edible glue and insert it 1/2 way into the head, leaving the other 1/2 exposed. You may need a skewer or something longer. Then once the head is quite dry you can brush the exposed end of the toothpick with edible glue and insert it in the body. You may want to use two toothpicks/skewers for extra support.
You may also want to make the head out of krispy treats as they are super light and the risk of the head being to heavy and falling is very unlikely!
wow! thats super great! you did a mighty fine job! :)
