Hi guys!

I am looking at some flower cutters and wondered if anyone has ever bought them from ebay? They are extrememly cheap but I have no experience with ebay and am worried about the product not being as advertised.  I also wanted to know if anyone has ever had any experience with the overseas sellers like Hong Kong?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

regarding ebay purchases, check the feedback and use paypal so you have financial recourse if your item is not as described.

Thank you ellavanilla.  I really want these cutters but I am just so nervous about buying them.  I am going to give it a try though and hope all goes well.

I bought some cookie cutters on ebay. I did not read the part where it said they were coming from Hong Kong! They had good feedback, which is what I definitely look for. It took about 1 month to recieve them but other than that, I was happy with the product.

I have bought a few cutters from overseas, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore...all arrived with no problem and were as described. They did take 3-4 weeks to get here though.

AI buy most of my cutters from eBay unless I need something urgently I have only ever had a problem with one item coming from shanghai witch I still haven't received however my money was refunded after I complained. Every thing else came in under a month. :-)

Majority of my cutters/and tools I have purchased from Ebay and they've come from UK (where I am) and also Hong Kong and all have been fine!  Ok, I have to wait a little longer for my purchases from Hong Kong, but for the price of them I really don't mind waiting :) .......... but just check their ratings and make sure they have excellent feedback etc :)

AI waz nervous too about ordering from ebay but did a lot of questioning folks that did and studied the site until I was comfortable...have now ordered several times with no problems so far...use paypal to pay as it is more secure that way and if something does happen, ebay will cover it with their guarantee...overseas does take about 6 weeks though, but worth it..waiting on the last item of my order now, btw, you get to rate the sellers and they, you, so they really want a 5 star rating and will do the right thing.

I have bought almost all of my cutters from ebay and all of them came from Hong Kong. I've never had a problem (other than waiting for delivery because it's coming from Hong Kong) I guess I don't understand the apprehension....

I LOVE ebay.  I have been buying stuff on it for about 6 years and have had hundreds of transactions.  I always pay with paypal as occasionally you do run in to a shonky dealer but, like in life, they are in the minority.  Most of these people depend on their good rating for their livlihood  and are not going to do wrong by you.  I have bought nearly every plunger cutter available from Hong Kong as they are so cheap, quite often a quarter or less of the price I would have to pay here and I would have to pay postage as well as I can't buy locally.  On a rare occasion when something has gone astray I have contacted the company and they have mailed out a new one.  They want to please you.  Having said that on 2 occasions I have run into trouble but because I used Paypal I was able to open a dispute and get my money back.  I have also bought quite a lot of cake decorating stuff from England.  I don't know where you live but you do have to be patient with the post from China as it is very slow.  Where as English and American buys reach Australia in 10-20 days, China generally takes 30-35.  As said above, always check your sellers rating.  It's worth paying a few cents extra for peace of mind.  If in doubt you can go into their feedback and see what sort of problems people may have had with them.  Good luck taking the plunge, it can become addictive!

Vendor "bluelakefox" selling from Canada sells cutters made in Argentina--Cortantes Cairo brand. Excellent quality, selection and service.

Anything made in China may well have lead solder so should be avoided.

I've bought a few things from ebay, and as someone has said, use pay pal. I have never had any problems with any of the products. I am currently waiting on a 3 tier cake tin which is coming from Hong Kong and am sure it will be fine as the reviews for the seller were very good.

Has anyone questioned the safety of the plastic being used in these Chinese made products? That is my biggest apprehension...I'm a seasoned eBayer but I hesitate when it comes to food safety.
