If you are looking for information on how to price your cakes, there are some wonderful web articles including the one on the Cake Boss Software site.

In general, you will need to have an accurate account of your expenses (ingredients, supplies, packaging, overhead, insurance, etc). You will also need to research your particular area to determine what your market is willin to pay.

I you are honestly curious what people, here, would charge, you'll need to provide more information. What size is the cake? We're the ribbons provided by client or made from fondant? Are those edible brooches or provide by client? What flavors & fillings?

I'd charge $0 because it's against the law to sell cakes in my area.  If you are a business (and I assume you are because you're charging), how do you NOT know how much to charge?  Shouldn't that be like one of the first thigs a business figures out?  This gets so old.

And if you're "just curious" about how much others would charge - this is an international forum.  What does someone in Canada, the UK, Australia, or New York have to do with your cake and your cost??  It's a waste of time. 

My 6/8/10 square "STARTS" at $325.  All the bells & whistles are extra. 

ALets not be too harsh. Some new people haven't yet realized that this isn't how we do things on this forum.

It may be that she's trying to get an idea of what others charge & really has done her own research. It may be that she does this as a hobby and has no clue how to price, & we can send her in the righ direction.

I'm all for educating fellow Valera, even in the protocol of a forum. Lets just try to be encouraging about it and not scare anyone away from our site.

I am a hobby baker. I make cakes for my family and friends. I can in my state bake cakes and sell with out braking the law. I would not know how much to charge for this cake. I would need to know what size, are the ribbons and diamonds being furnished or do I need to buy them.
