Here's my newest!

I feel bad that I'm not contributing very much in the comments to other peoples cakes.  I'm still pretty new, and don't feel like I'm in a place to be offering criticism, especially since most of the cakes posted here are way better than mine.  But I really do appreciate all the feed back and advice I've been getting here.  You guys are the best!

I'd like to join the cake club too icon_smile.gif I don't have photos for critique at the moment, but will post when I do. I'll also post feedback on the above links later tonight. Awesome idea to start the cake club!

I've never posted for a review before, but this was my first time trying a hand painted design and I love the possibilities this has!  I would love to improve and would love feedback.  The cake is butter pecan with an almond buttercream and caramel filling, covered with an almond marshmallow fondant.  I used gel colours thinned with vodka.  I found that the brush strokes were quite visible, I played around with it but still had a hard time getting everything to blend.  The bushes are made from gumpaste.  Thank you!

post #457 of 762 this was my first truck. I know there are many flaws. Take a go at it! The cab was a 6" round cut into a sqaureand built up with cake pop material. It is sitting on a styrofoam support, held on with melted chocolate and 3 skewers. The box is 5"x12.5" of carrot cake with stiff crusting cream cheese. It is ganached (my ganache was not as firm as it should have been) It is held in place with chocolate and 4 skewers that go down thru the styrofoam and the board. The wheels are fondant and tylose. I used the clay extruder to make the lugs. They are held in place with melted chocolate and the weight of the cake.

I've never submitted a cake for review before, so I'd like your opinions on this extremely last minute cake, especially the flower. Thank you to JWinslow for all her help with the magnolia, it still needs refining!!  I posted it under the wrong place (bridal showers) but I guess the design could be used for that as well!

Thank you!

Waggs those are very pretty! The rules ask us to embed the link to your album here and we post our comments on the album picture.

Oh, I didn't know that. Do you know what it took just to post those? No very computer savy. My daughter posted those pics for me. I'll have to see if she could put them in my album.
