I have a recipe for vanilla cake or white cake that I use all the time. A friend requested french vanilla cake. Is there anything that I can add such as extra vanilla to make it french vanilla? sorry probably stupid question but can anyone help me out?
I think that french vanilla has to do with more of a custard base like for ice cream. So I would imagine you have to use egg yolks and not just whites in the recipe. :)
Here I found this recipe on an old thread...
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs, room temperature
2-3/4 cups flour
2-1/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
2 TBS pure vanilla extract
haha, i actually found a french vanilla extract that walmart carries and its delicious :) i use it in all my vanilla recipes
I use French Vanilla coffee creamer as my liquid and French Vanilla Extract instead of regular vanilla.
