Hi. Is anyone going? Have you gone in the past? I am thinking about going to take a class. Are there a lot of vendors? Thanks.
AI'd like to go, too. Last time I checked the classes weren't posted. Are they up now?
AHave any of you ladies entered in the contest before?? I'm feeling compelled to enter...or maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment since I have 3 small kids to work around. Lol
NJ - I'm entering for first time! Do it! We'll get our feet wet together. what's your cake plan?
ATrying to think of a theme based on a book was a little challenging...so I looked through my kids books and thought of doing a Light in the attic theme. I just started getting into hand painting cakes, so this make be an opportunity to do some some work with it. I have it done in my head... It's just a matter of following through. I may just wait it out a year, feel out the show as a spectator, and try next year. I'm going to give it a day or two to think more about it. Do you have a plan? Where are you from? I'm in Lacey.
AI can't find any info either. I know that there isn't a CT this year so I am wondering if NJ isn't having one this year.
As of today The Garden State Cake Show Facebook page says please be patient we are trying the secure the location for the 2014 show.
I went a couple years ago and they had awesome classes, awesome vendors but a medium amount of cakes on show with lots of space left for others. But the ones there rocked. I had a blast and would definitely do it all over again.
I will be very interested in finding out where the location will be. I lived in NJ for 25 years and what a great reason to go "home".

I did inquire on the website and they said they are scouting for a location and to stay tuned. I guess it won't be late winter this year. if I hear anything further I'll post.
Thought I'd pass this along. I just heard back from my inquiry:
5th Annual Garden State Cake Show
May 17 - 18, 2014
Marlton Middle School
150 Tomlinson Mill Road
Marlton, NJ 08053
Yes. I was just going to post! no word on theme. that is a busy time (for me) with weddings, birthdays, and graduations, Plus it's warm! I'm still going to participate! Can't wait
I have been twice. there are not too many vendors but more than a few free classes. I took one class two years ago and it was great.
The vendors that are there are good and bring supplies to buy and no shipping. Some show techniques and there is the competition too. I love it and would recommend if you are near by.
They are usually a little late getting info out on classes but they get some really good instructors.
