My first Cake - please be kind ;) - Page 2

I think you did a terrific job! Do you have a fondant smoother? It really helps. Also, it helps if you smooth your icing very well, then roll your fondant a bit thicker. I agree the bugs are completely adorable!

Beginners, be sure to parrot advice and get your post count up as fast as you can. After all, it's not what you know, it's what people THINK you know.

Beautiful work. You'll only get better with time and more practice.

Your cake looks amazing! Did you put your cake in the fridge after decorating it?

I didn't put it in the fridge because its Marshmallow Fondant and someone told me that putting Marshmallow Fondant in the fridge is a big NO NO

This is honestly your first cake? As in, you'd never even baked a simple single-layer sheet cake, simply frosted and served in-pan?

I've baked perhaps a dozen or so cakes, none of them this ambitious. Even if this is merely your first decorated cake, it's quite remarkable. If it's truly your first cake of any kind, it's amazing.

Oh I might should have put it this way - my first fondant decorated cake. I have baked many many cakes but never really decorated one with fondant

It's still quite remarkable. I've never tried fondant, myself.
