Was wondering if anyone can help me? I'm making a cake for my son's 4th birthday saturday and after posting a previous question on here decided to make the wings for the cake (its a treeling with wings - bit like a fairy from BBC Tree Fu Tom show) out of sugarpaste and wired them for strength.
Now my problem is how to attach them to the actual cake??
I can't just push the wire into the cake and I'm worried if I attach them (4 at angles like a butterfly) through a holder such as straw into the cake it won't be strong enough to hold them.
I've got a solid wide dowel attached to the cake board to give the overall structure a lot of support but wondered if it would be possible to attach the wings onto this for strength but I can't work out how with them touching the cake!
I always seem to take on more than I can chew but then where's the fun in making something simple?!
Any help greatly received, thanks in advance!
