I would like to make edible glue but do not have CMC powder, not sure what that is or where to get it.

I have gum tragacath and gum arabic powder.  Could I somehow make edible glue using one of these?

Any help is appreciated, I am just getting back to decorating after a break of years but I never made edible glue before.  Thanks.

You want to make edible glue from your gum arabic.  A teaspoon in 3 ounces of water, warm it up gently. Strain and store in the fridge.

CMC is carboxy-methyl-cellulose also called tylose.  NOT used for glue but used to make fine modelling paste (flowerpaste) for decorations.

Thank you BakingIrene.  Would I warm this mixture in the microwave?  Sorry, a real novice here.  Thanks.

I think it would be safer to boil a small pot half full of water. Make your glue in a glass measuring cup.  Take the pot off the heat and put the glue into that to warm it up without any more cooking.

I buy cmc powder to make edible glue or add to fondant to use like gumpaste. I buy tylose powder for the same reason. you would use 2 tsp. cmc  to 1/2 cup warm water to make edible glue. Been using it for years. buy both at the ices cake convention. hth
