I just received my 2nd wedding cake order within a week of receiving my very first wedding cake order!
(Sigh) So I'm kind of overwhelmed at the moment trying to make sure I price my cakes accurately. One bride wants a 4 tiered square cake with fondant and ribbon ( which she picked out and wants to mail to me). I know its usually charged by the slice and area you live in, so I decided on 2.50/slice plus 0.50 extra for fondant bringing it to 3.00/slice. For 175 guests thats 525.00 but I'll only quote 500.00 since she is providing the ribbon and topper. Is that too much for me being a home baker? Bakeries in the area starts at $3-4/slice just for basic decor and buttercream. I just want to make sure I'm being fair.
