AI made a gumpaste butterfly last night and set it into a form so that the wings would be up instead of flat. And this morning I proceeded to break a wing off from the body. Indd a quick fix with gum glue and reset it in the form. All seemed well upon my return from home and then I broke it again. I really need it or a cake I'm delivering tmrw. Any ideas for a quick fix that will hold?

AColoured chocolate? Gumpaste sausage as a body and poke the wings in? Attach it using a royal icing body blob?

AThanks for the reply, Lisa! I was able to get it to hold by applying a very slim piece of fresh gumpaste to each side of the broken area and re-sealing with gum glue. It worked beautifully where the wing joined the body, but I did make a bit of a mess re-attaching the end of the body to the thorax. It worked, but it wasn't my cleanest product to be sure. Thanks again!
