Hi everyone im new to here and fairly new to the world of cake decorating but have been given the job of making my dads 60th birthday cake so doing a number 60 with a fishing theme, all fine have drawn my design etc etc the only think im having trouble with is knowing how much icing I need to ice both the number 6 and 0 cakes there going to be about 14" long x 10" wide and 3" deep can anyone help with this or tell me how I can work it out?

Thanks in advance

so a 14x10 is close to a 9x13, a normal cake size that requires one icing recipe give or take

since you have the inside and outside of two 'normal' cakes

that's at least four times the recipe

so that's a basis

those things eat icing

make a lot!!
