AHi all, I'm having my first go at making a cake on Tuesday I'm going to be doing a sponge cake covered with fondant and decorated for christmas, just wondering how would be best to store the cake, I have an airtight container but have been told not to put it in there as it can caus the fondant to melt, should I keep it in the fridge or a cardboard box? What would you recommend? Thanks everyone x

Hi Vicki,

I would recommend to put your cake in a cake box and just store it in a dry and cool place.

Please make sure that you don't put the cake in the fridge as it definitely won't like it:) especially if you use colors ,they will start to "run" and ruin your cake!

The icing seals your cake,so it won't dry out..etc for at least 4-5 days (depending on the filling and date of baking of your sponge)

I hope it helps...

Have fun baking your cake x
