Cake For Donation - Stick With The Rules Of Your Business Or They Don't Apply For A Donated Cake?

A few questions on how you deal with cakes you make for charity:
- Do you stick with your menu or make whatever they ask for even if it's off menu? I just got approved for my CFO permit so that means I can only make the specific recipes I was approved for. But would you make something that's not on your menu since this isn't a regular paying customer?
- Do you follow all copyright laws? I guess this one might be a stupid question. They will likely take pictures and the charity will likely post those pics. on their website so best to be safe, right?
If you want to still be covered by your business insurance, then you should stick with only offering what is legally allowed under your permit.
As far as copyright laws, many companies will give one time permission if the cake is for a charity (I recently did a Carolina Hurricanes logo on a cake, with specific written permission granted by the team which stated it was for that cake only).

That's a good point about insurance. I hadn't even thought of it that way.
With your CFO permit it's usually pretty easy to get new recipes approved, so if you've got a little time that may be a way to give them what they want without going outside your business.
