What do i use to make hair on my figures, i have been using flower paste to make it curly but when it dries it cracks and if i use fondant i can't get it to stay curly?

Add some Tylose (CMC) as well as some Crisco to the fondant, especially if you're using an extractor gun to make the hair.  When I do curls, I wrap the "hair" tightly around a toothpick, place it on the figure and then support the curls with a piece of sponge until it hardens up.

I often just use buttercream or royal icing for details like this. I guess it depends on what is is being used for.
