Hi everyone,

I've had this cake, in a 3 tier version of sponge cake throughout, requested by a bride:

I'm having a really difficult time trying to figure out what to charge. What you would personally charge for a wedding cake like that? 6", 8" and 10" round.

Any answers would be a great help just to help me figure out what I think is best icon_smile.gif

Thanks in advance!

Here is a very rough estimate. For starters a 6, 8 and 10 will feed around 50 people so the first thing I would do is determine my base price per serving (an average of $4.00 would be $200.00) then I would add in the per cost of the flowers (the photo has well over 75 flowers with greenery on this picture but it is much larger than you are requiring, I would cut that number down to about 50, so if they are gumpaste then I would come up with a "per flower" price based on the time it took me to make 1 flower and an amount of how much charge per hour I would charge (lets say 2 flowers in 1 hour and you charge $15 per hour). So for 50 flowers I would charge $375.00. So I would give a starting price of $575.00 and I'm sure it would go up from there cause you need to add in extras like support systems, box, delivery etc.
