Hi everyone!!
Me and my big mouth offered to bake a cake for a friend who wants chocolate frosting with a print out on rice paper (edible image) on top :/ Can this actually be accomplished? Won't the colors of the image be totally lost in the dark of the chocolate??
I have used edible rice paper on top of cakes before, but the frosting has always been a nice white or ivory color and I can tell that the paper kind of "melts" into the frosting, that's whats keeping me worried about using chocolate instead...
Thanks for reading and any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated!!
Never done this before, but if i had to... i will roll out a piece of fondant and cut it to the shape of the edible image and place the E.I. on top of it and place it on the cake.
That's what I do, too, if I have an EI on dark colours (brown, red, black etc.
I first glue it to either SP or GP and then cut out around the EI and place it on the cake.
Make yourself a plaque out of white fondant, use a fair bit of tylose in it and set it aside to dry , if you are using rice paper use piping gel to attach it to the plaque, then you just have to pop it on the cake when you are ready.
You could also make the plaque out of mexican paste if you choose as well.
Thank you so much everybody!! Your suggestions make perfect sense, and that's what I'll do
@Godot: Sorry for the ignorance, but what is "SP or GP"?
Thanks again everyone!!!
