How do I replicate this flower from a baby shower invitation

I need to replicate the flowers from this invitation on a cake, but I'm not sure what type of flower it is, and how to do it. Any suggestions?

How about doing something like this, made by cc's Corrie76. Looks like small circle cutouts and shaped with the ball tool, then arranged into a flower shape. I think it looks similar to the flowers on the invite.

Yep...or close enough. Just google "modern flower stencil" or "dahlia stencil" or "cake stencil modern flower" and you'll get results. If you want to go to the stencil route, can't tell if you're absolutely needing 3D flowers or could do it flat.

This is a flat pattern chrysanthemum from Japanese kimono art. Easiest to print it onto an edible sheet, to keep it in the spirit of the source.

Chrysanthemum is the flower. The directions for a buttercream version are here.
