Please help?? Self rising flour for cakes any good?

I'm wondering what the difference will be when making a cake with self rising flour vs all purpose flour.
Also what can you use the SRF for?

Thank you all!

I use both. The self rising flour doesn't need baking powder that s all.

SRF is all purpose flour with baking powder and salt added. The problem with this is you can't control the amount of baking powder in your recipe. So most folks prefer to get APF and add the varying amounts of leavening called for in different recipes.

I don't like the taste of the finished goods using self rising flour.  I tried the Gold Medal brand, which I really like for AP and bread flour.
