Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to make the beautiful Phalaenopsis or Moth orchid but I don't have the funds right now or the storage space to purchase a new set of cutters. Is there any way to make this stunning flower with just basic cutters? I have the basic Wilton cutters as well as a few other cutters for roses, peonies and leaves. I also have plain round cutters. If anyone knows how to do this or knows where I can find out how to do this, that would be great! Thanks!! Stacy

Well, if you look at these photos the smaller petals in the back are like a rose petal, and the larger ones are pretty much a round cutter with a pinchy end. The cent is the only part you'd have to make an effort to reproduce, so teh other petals are pretty simple. http://www.google.com/search?q=phalaenopsis+orchid&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=In5SUMG8DoHa8ASikoDYDA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=672#biv=i|3;d|7jsoK0geYbjutM:

I quite often will go online and look at the cutters sold to make whatever flower I need. If I don't have the correct cutters I create a template and then use it as a guide to hand cut the pieces. Works for me. That is how I made these "heart's desire" orchids.
