Do you know of any diary free cake recipes? A bride is requesting this type of cake.

this is mine,
vanilla sponge.

350g self raising flour, white
3tsp baking powder
250g caster sugar
10tbsp sunflower oil
300ml water
2tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 180 degrees/gas 4, grease and line 2 6inch sandwich tins. Sift the flower and baking powder into a large mixing bowl; add the sugar and vanilla and mix. Mix the oil and water together in a jug and add slowly. Mix to a batter like consistency. Pour the mixture in to the prepared tins, bake for about 30 minutes until springy to the touch. Cool on a wire rack.

I only bake dairy free; what flavor are you looking for?

Any chiffon cake recipe. They all use oil, and you can use coconut almond or soy milk in place of the milk or water.

my favorite is an old family recipe my family calls depression cake because of the lack of dairy they could get during the depression - its a deliciously moist chocolate cake no one will know its vegan (dairy free) I make it all the time

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil (or coconut oil is really good too!)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1 cup water

350 degrees for 30-40 minutes

Make sure you add the vinegar last and and put in the oven as quickly after as possible this is what makes the cake rise ( vinegar + baking soda = moist yummy cake)

You can also buy "egg replacer" at any health food store and mix in place of eggs, and use soy or almond milk in place of regular milk for most standard cake recipes. Ground flax seed in place of eggs works really good as a binder as well. I'm not vegan myself but I bake vegan 99% of the time, because most of my friends are (I live in southern ca haha)

Earth Balance can be subbed for butter and soy milk with Earth Balance can sub for milk/cream. You don't really need a new recipe. They may need some tweaking, but with a little work, they can rival dairy cakes.

Scp1127, what can I use to substitute for the egg?

I did not know non-diary cakes are called vegan.

Thanks Aimomo26, I will try the chocolate recipe.
